Mr. Carroll G. Belcher, age 87 of Anna, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his home. He was born June 3, 1926 in Wolf Lake, the son of Roy and Dora Boyce Belcher. He married Dorothy Lee Conant on February 2, 1947 in Anna. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1991. He later married Vera Hale King on May 24, 1992 in Buncombe Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Vera Belcher of Anna; children, Robert (Sherry) Belcher of Buncombe, Steve (Kathy) Belcher of Chester, Tom (Jean) Belcher of Matoon, William Belcher of Houston, TX, David (Rita) Belcher of Anna; Vera's children, James Rickie (Amy) King of Lick Creek, Dan (Stephanie) King of Campbell Hill; thirteen grandchildren, Michelle (Rick) Petermeyer, Melanie (John) Derry, Tarea Wagner, Mareshah (Stuart) Priddy, Bethany (Marshall) Dunn, Lara (Mike) Hesse, Sara (Jeff) Hammel, Jim (Rebecca) Belcher, Jennifer (Aaron) Black, Tristan Belcher, Cody, Katie and Jaelin King; ten great grandchildren, Luren and Zack Petermeyer, Lilly Derry, Aiden Wagner, Peter Priddy, Mason Dunn, Emery Beth Dunn, Brenna Hammel, Grace and Dorothy Belcher; two sisters in law, Marilyn Belcher and Mary Jackson both of Anna; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy Belcher; and three brothers, Willis, Harry and Boyd Belcher. Carroll was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro and the Anna Masonic Lodge #520. He taught many years at the Anna-Jonesboro High School and coached basketball. Carroll proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail of St. Louis, Missouri. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna-Jonesboro Basketball Program. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
