Carl Harlan Sandlin Jr.

Carl Harlan Sandlin, Jr.,age84 of Anna, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.He was born on June 1, 1935 in Union County the son of Carl Harlan Sandlin, Sr. and Frances (Bradley) Sandlin. He married Barbara Merriman on May 26, 1961.Carl recently attended New Beginnings Community Worship in Anna. He previously attended the Dongola United Pentecost Church. He worked many years at the Florsheim Shoe Factory and Union County Hospital.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sandlin of Anna; 3 daughters, Penny Sandlin of Anna, Peggy Duty of Jonesboro, andKloeDallas of Anna; 1 son, Paul Sandlin of Carterville; 4 grandchildren, Brian Hinkle, Robin Wilson and Jeremy Duty all of Anna and Angie Smith of Dongola; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 cousins, Troy and Martha Sandlin.He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Terry Sandlin.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev John Gourley officiating. Interment will follow at Casper Cemetery in Anna. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honor Detail. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Girl Scout Troop 8597. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
