Mr. Carl Everett Rhodes, age 91 of Wolf Lake, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home. He was born March 23, 1925 in Wolf Lake, the son of Albert and Lula (Foster) Rhodes. Carl is survived by his brother, Billy Rhodes of Alto Pass; numerous nieces and nephews, Annie Rhodes, Jim Rhodes, Wanda Bradford, Mildred Fox, Barbara Barlow, Paul Pender, Don Pind, Clarence Pind, Fred Pender, Stanley Rhodes, Everett Rhodes and Jim Pind; several great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Carl was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He worked as a correctional officer at Menard Correctional Center for 36 years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Funeral services for Mr. Carl Everett Rhodes will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Anna with Stan Hutchinson and Greg Etherton officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Navy Funeral Honor Detail. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Grove Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home of Anna.
