Carl Joe Frick, age 83 of Jonesboro, passed Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1942 in Anna, the son of Carl and Lucille (Piercy) Frick. He married Carolyn Sue Eddleman on September 4, 1965. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2019.
Joe is survived by his son, Brian Frick of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Amber Frick of Broken Arrow, OK, Allison and Dawson Frick both of Jonesboro; four great-grandchildren, Maleigh, Mikki, Kayrina and Junior Ruckor all of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Charlotte Fear of Jonesboro; nephew, Carter and wife Roni Lacy; two nieces, Rhonda and husband Rodney Tweedy and Christin Fear all of Jonesboro; great nephews, Austin and wife Harley Tweedy of Rockwall, TX, Logan Tweedy of Tonganoxie, KS, and Cameron Tweedy of Jonesboro; great nieces, Cara Lacy of Jonesboro, Jamia and husband Cole Marks of Jonesboro, Paige Lacy of Anna, Ashlin Tweedy of Jonesboro and Madison Tweedy of Rockwall, TX; four great-great nephews and five great-great nieces; best friends, Larry and wife Sharon Hepburn, Roger Hileman, Larry Vaughn and very special friend, Kathy Robinson and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carolyn Sue Frick.
Joe graduated from Shawnee College with a degree in forestry service. He was employed by the U.S. Forestry Service until his retirement. He was very well versed in all thing's nature. He spent many years fighting wildfires in the west and retained all the information he learned in those times to help manage local forests.
Joe honorably served his county in the United States Marines. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 V.F.W. in Anna and the Anna Moose Lodge.
Joe aka "the Baron of Berryville" or "Captain Nice" also farmed and maintained the West Berryville Cattle Company which he later renamed the Poverty Hollar Cattle Company. He was a very hard worker and pillar of strength, but he did have an onery streak and unmatched sense of humor. He will be truly missed by everyone.
Funeral services for Joe Frick will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m. until the service hour of 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Military funeral honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. and the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team.
Joe was passionate about helping veterans in need, as well as preserving nature and it's beauty. To honor Joe, memorial contributions are asked to be made to A-J 1641 Veterans account, and will be distributed to help carry on Joe's memory.
