Brian Glen Goins

Brian Goins, age 54 of Cobden, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He was born August 23, 1964 in Anna, the son of William Glen and Barbara (Johnson) Goins. He married Karol Osorio Barbosa on October 31, 2016 in Cobden. Brian is survived by his wife Karol Osorio Goins of Bucaramanga, Colombia; children, Ben (Erica) Goins of Cape Girardeau, MO, Christian and Leah Goins both of Cobden; step sons, Juan Osorio Barbosa and Jose Osorio Barbosa both of Bucaramanga, Colombia; father, Glen (Jane) Goins of Jonesboro; brother, Mike (Patricia) Goins of Cobden; sister, Glenda (Randy) Little of Cobden; step sisters, Tracy (Tom) Smith of Anna, Kim (David) Prater of Anna, Leigh Burns of Jonesboro; step brother, Daniel (Mandy) Page of Anna; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Steven Eugene Goins; nephew, Steven Eugene Jr. He attended the Connect Point Church in Anna. Brian enjoyed a career in aviation of over 30 years where he was able to see parts of the world many only dream of. Brian never shirked from an opportunity to provide for his children, spending the latter years of his career flying contract in Afghanistan and then in Nigeria. Brian always made the best of every situation and frequently went out of his way to help others. He made friends wherever he went and touched the hearts of many people across the globe. He will be dearly missed. Funeral services for Brian Goins will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Dongola Pentecostal Church with Tom Wall officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 in the Dongola Pentecostal Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home.
