Bonnie L. (Rich) Stokes

Bonnie L. Stokes, age 95 of Lick Creek, went to be with the Lord and Savior, Monday, October 24, 2022 at Parkway Manor in Marion. She was born November 18, 1926 in Lick Creek, the daughter of Lafayette Carroll and Ruth (Stout) Rich. She married Herman Lee Stokes on October 22, 1943 in Jackson, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2016.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Jeannie Parr and Carol Watkins both of Lick Creek; son, Matt (Donna) Stokes of Lick Creek; four grandchildren, Chandler (Sherri) Parr, Tim (Kim) Parr, Jennifer Stokes, Ashley (Jeremy) Cookson; nine great-grandchildren, Chandra Kaye (Hunter) Englehart, Zack and Jake Parr, Travis and Brady Woodworth, Clayton Smith, Bella Cook, Ryker and Cru Cookson; three great-great-grandchildren, Charlestyn Englehart, Mila Parr, Huntson Englehart; two nieces, Pam Jones of MS, and Paula Sullivan of Goreville; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Lee Stokes; sister, Betty Jones; two sons-in-law, Mike Watkins and P.L. Parr.

Bonnie was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching vacation bible school to the children. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoying every opportunity to attend sporting events for her grandchildren. Bonnie worked along side her husband, Herman on the dairy farm many years ago. She loved cooking for her family and always made sure there was something to eat.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Mike Miller officiating. Interment will be in McGinnis Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church or McGinnis Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
