Bonnie Jean Dillow, age 67 of Makanda, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born on December 7, 1956 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of Bruce Alan and Elaine Joyce (Walsh) Messer. She married Steve Dillow on August 5, 1978 in Waukegan.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Steve Dillow of Makanda; her son, Nicholas Dillow and daughter, Destiny Dillow both of Anna; sisters, Tammy (Tony) Babbs of Clermont, FL and Lisa Oxford of East St. Louis, IL; nephews, Ryan (Tiffany) Dillow, Steven Schultz, Anthony Babbs and Jody Buchman; great-nieces, Brynlee and Emersyn Dillow; cousin, Karen Messer-Katz; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bonnie was a tireless worker. She was a registered nurse, still caring for people as a hospice nurse at the Marion Veteran's Administration Medical Center. She was a loving wife and mother, always supporting the endeavors of her children. She also loved and cared for her grand-dogs, Chief and Lucy.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bonnie Dillow will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Joseph Hawkins officiating. Family and friends may gather from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the funeral home.
