Mrs. Bonita "Bonnie" Mangum, age 93 of Anna, died at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the Anna Rehab and Care Center. She was born July 24, 1921 in Dongola, the daughter of Frank and Geneva Grear Baker. She married Otis "Otie" Mangum on September 28, 1940 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1970. Bonnie is survived by her son, Dr. Bill (Marge) Mangum of Leawood, KS; one daughter, Sandra (Wayne) Schultz of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Dr. Andy (Kristin) Mangum, Danny (Aphrodite) Mangum, Doug (Kristen) Mangum, Katie Mangum, Ron (Susan) Schultz, Sarah (Shane) Jones; six great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Heidi Jones, Ella, Chase, Eric, and David Mangum; two sisters in law, Marge Baker and Ann Baker; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otis Mangum; four brothers, Richard, Mickey, Harod V. and Bobby Baker. Bonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. She retired from the Anna State Hospital in 1986. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bonita "Bonnie" Mangum will be at the Jonesboro Cemetery following the visitation. Friends may call from 10-12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the cemetery.
