Bobbie Thompson, age 93 of Dongola died on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. He was born May 5, 1927 in Elco the son of John and Eliza Ann (Lewis) Thompson. He married Grace Powles on May 21, 1948 in Mill Creek. Bobbie was a manager at the Tamms Lumberyard for many years. He then ran his own business as a contractor through Aluma-Kraft until he retired. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. He raised everything from milk goats and chickens, to vegetables in his garden. He also had a pet turkey. Bobbie was a member of the united Church of God in Cape Girardeau, MO. Bobbie is survived by his wife, Grace Thompson of Dongola; children, Robert Thompson of Dongola, Gary (Sandy) Thompson of Columbia, and Janice Adamick of Ashley; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Jeremy Thompson; son-in-law, James Adamick; and eight siblings. Interment will be in the St. John's cemetery in Dongola with Military Rites conducted by Carrol P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Navy Funeral Honor Team. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorials can be made to the P.A.W.S. envelopes will be available at the funeral home.All those attending will be required to wear coverings and observe social distancing guidelines. Maximum occupancy of the building will be limited to 50 persons at one time.
