Billy Ray Keller, age 89 of Anna, formerly of Dongola, died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna. He was born May 7, 1931 in Ullin, the son of Leo H. and Mary M. (Staudacher) Keller. He married Doris Dunaway on June 1, 1951 in Carbondale. Billy is survived by his wife, Doris Keller; children, Steven (Gian) Keller, Larry Joe (Melody) Keller, and Ronald Lee (Suzanne) Keller; grandchildren, Sarah Ann (Nick) Murray, Lenore (Randy) Ashby, Alison (Ricky) Tweedy, Shannon (Stacie) Keller, Nick Keller, and Megan (Caleb) Crabtree; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Hadley Ashby. Bill became a Christian on June 9, 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola for over 60 years, serving as trustee and treasurer for 20 plus years. He was a lifelong resident of Dongola and very active in his community and also served as mayor. He was the manager of Associated Lumber until its closing. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral services will be held privately for the family. Interment will be in the Meisenheimer - Mt. Olive Cemetery.
