Betty Janice Swink

Mrs. Betty Janice Swink, age 80 of Dongola, died at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born November 12, 1936 in Union County, the daughter of Lloyd Samuel and Alma Irene (Smith) Sims. She married Don C. Swink on December 20, 1953 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2016. Betty is survived by her children, Donna (Billy) Williams of Anna, Michael Swink of Dongola and Debbie Holcomb (David Howerton) of Dongola; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great-great-grand child on the way; three sisters, Linda Michaels of Murphysboro, Shelby (Bill) Phelps of Vienna and Lucy Greenway of Metropolis; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don C. Swink and two sons, Donnie Ray and Tommy. Betty loved to cook, enjoyed reading, tending to her many plants and flower garden. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Janice Swink will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 in the Anna City Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home of Anna in charge of arrangements.
