Betty Jean Sharp, age 81 of Jonesboro, died on Monday, August 19, 2019 in the Integrity Healthcare of Anna. She was born February 16, 1938, the daughter of Clyde and Emma (Gibbs) Baggott. She married the love of her life Jack Sharp on March 26, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2002. Betty is survived by her children, Nancy Sweitzer of Cobden, Jackie (Wayne) Drew of Carbondale, Billy (Pam) Sharp of Anna, and Barbara (Harold) Smith of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Betsy (Jon) Oxford, Jenni Sharp, Heather Smith, Jeremy (Ashley) Smith, Dylan Sharp, and Darin Sharp; greatgrandchildren, Kyndal, Nash, Brylee, Ryan Levi, Reese Landon, Brystol, Mayson, Addison; sisters, Gayle (Richard) Fox of Texas and Linda (Scott) Pender of Marion; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Sharp; and a daughter, Betty Ann Sharp & her husband. Betty was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Club. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Dongola. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorials can be made to New Hope Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
