Betty M (Lingle) Fairhurst

Betty M. Fairhurst, age 82 of Anna, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Integrity Healthcare in Anna. She was born on May 25, 1940 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Clyde and Lois (Rich) Lingle. She married Troy Leon Fairhurst on September 6, 1995. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2022.

Betty is survived by her sons, Phillip and Rodney Durham, both of Anna; three sisters, Sue McIntosh and Patty Lingle, both of Cape Girardeau and Debbie (Steve) Hamilton of Clarksville, TN; one brother, Ken (Linda) Lingle of Jonesboro; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Shirley Suitt, a brother, Clyde Linge, Jr. and two brothers-in-law, Bob McIntosh and Virgil Suitt.

Betty was a loving wife and mother. Betty's working life was spent as an administrative secretary at Jonesboro Elementary School, a shoe maker at Florsheim shoes, a salesperson for Avon, an operator and manager of the Anna-Jonesboro Cab Company. Betty loved all animals especially dogs, cats and her Koi fish. She was a supporter of pet adoption agencies and had many pets of her own. Betty had an exuberant personality, was very sociable and friendly. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was loved by all that knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Services for Betty M. Fairhurst will be private. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to an animal adoption agency of your choice.
