Betty L. Lilly

Mrs. Betty L. Lilly, age 87 of Freeburg, formerly of Anna, died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Cedar Creek Assisted Living in Freeburg, IL. She was born April 21, 1926 in Alto Pass, the daughter of Oliver Wayne and Elva Avis Cavaness Lyerla. Betty is survived by one son, Bill Dewayne (Sharon) Lilly of Anna; one daughter, Brenda Kay (Dennis) Leemon of Sparta; five grandchildren, Beth (Rodney) Schlenker, Jody Belmont, Michael (Amanda) Lilly, Lisa (Richard) Zweigart, and Kevin (Alexess) Leemon; thirteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She worked many years as a cook on the riverboat. She loved sewing and volunteered many hours at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna and the Sunshine Inn. Funeral services for Mrs. Betty L. Lilly will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
