Betty Marie George

Betty Marie George, age 75 of Anna, died Friday, March 18, 2022 at her home. She was born January 22, 1947 in Carbondale, the daughter of Lawrence Calvin and Mildred Marie (Smith) Blessing. Betty is survived by her mother, Mildred Blessing of Cobden; son, Larry (Kelle) George of Dongola daughter, Denise Reynolds of Anna; five grandchildren, Nick Reynolds, Jerald Reynolds, Kaelyn George, Beau Nobles and Hunter Nobles; one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Peggy (Allen) Crowell of Cobden; brother, Clarence Blessing of Marion; three nephews, Collin Crowell, Matt Blessing and Josh Blessing; niece, Christina (Trouble) Pryor; beloved dog, Odie; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father; son, Denny Nobles; and son in law, Steve Reynolds. Betty was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church. She owned and operated Betty's Hair Fashion for many years and for the last twenty five years she worked at the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 VFW. Betty loved working outdoors and was a distributor for Paparazzi Jewelry and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with LaRue Parr officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
