Betty Jean Dickerson, age 89 of Jonesboro, died Friday, December 6, 2019 the Union County Hospital Long Term Care. She was born September 7, 1930, the daughter of Everett and Allie May (Brown) Frick. She married James E. Dickerson on June 17, 1950 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1999. Betty is survived by her children, Kathy (Lee) Houston of Jonesboro, Joyce Dickerson of Tamms, and Donna (Steve) Anderson of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Tonya (Ben) Hurst, Hannah (Mike) Youngman, Kade (Kalli) Corzine, and Richard (Sherry) Tucker; great-grandchildren, Journee Rushing, Teddy Hurst, Kennett & Hazel Youngman, Koy Corzine, and Aliyh Tucker; siblings, Carol (Ken) Dillow of Anna, Bernice Kaupas of Anna, and Helen Fern Dexter of Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Dickerson; son-in-law, Denny Tucker; brother, Sidney Frick; sisters, Mary Joann Sanders, Patricia Marsh, and Katherine June Frick. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro for more than 40 years. She liked spending time reading and studying her bible, and she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Envelopes will be available at the church.
