Mrs. Betty Louise Craig, age 84 of Carbondale and formerly of Cobden, went to be with the Lord at 10:50 am, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born on November 7, 1930 in Cobden, the daughter of Claude "Dobbin" and Nellie (King) Braggs. Betty was united in marriage to William Hollie Craig and spent sixty-five special years together. Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband William Hollie; her four children, Betty Anne Oschmann, Scott Craig, David Craig, and Pam Anaya; eleven grandchildren, Tracey Ann, Eddie, Bridget, Will, Joe, Brandon, Eric, Kristi, Kenneth, Nick and Jessica; eleven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brittney, Ashley, Logan, Kansas, Kaegon, Jonah, Olivia, Zander, Jasmine and Carter; five sisters, Norma Adams, Sharon Jackson, Treva Acklin, Linda Comte and Brenda Childers, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Darlene Legocki and sister, Margaret Lambert. Betty was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church. She graduated from Alto Pass High School in 1948. Betty was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. of Anna and also a lifetime member of the D.A.V. of Jackson County. Betty spent much of her time researching her family ancestry and sharing her research findings with her family. Betty loved to watch the races on Sunday, always cheering for the number three. Following Betty's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Memorial envelopes will be available at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
