Betty J. Baker

Betty J. Baker, age 85 of Wolf Lake, died Saturday, May 4, 2019. She was born April 10, 1934 in Alto Pass, the daughter of Cletus Earl "Buck" and Rosie Lee (Curry) Rhodes. She married Fred L. Baker on March 30, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2011. Betty is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Baker of Wolf Lake; six nieces; four nephews; two sisters in law, Lucille (Baker) Dale of Carbondale and Violet (Baker) DeGroate of Crest Hill; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred L. Baker; grandparents, Thomas Seymour and Doris Elva (Smith) Rhodes of Wolf Lake and Willam Matt and Ellen (Franklin) Curry of Kentucky; sister in law, Geraldine (Baker) Fisher. Betty was a member of the Beech Grove Church in Alto Pass for many years. She was retired from Choate Mental Health as a technician and enjoyed working in her yard. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the Jonesboro Cemetery with Brother Don Fisher officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beech Grove Church mowing fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the cemetery.
