Berniece Clara Hawk

Mrs. Berniece Clara Hawk, age 77 of Pomona, passed from this world at 11:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at her home in Pomona. She was born February 17, 1936 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Adam Louis and Emma Louise Heumann Weis. She married Everett Buddie "Bud" Hawk on May 31, 1955 in Hernando, MS. Berniece is survived by her loving husband Bud Hawk of Pomona; one daughter, Yvonne Hawk Ridgway of Carbondale; one son, Everett Arlen Hawk of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Eugene (Geneva) Weis of Du Quoin; Emma Johnson of Cedar Falls, IA and Virginia Corzine of Anna; nineteen nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alberta Bossle; and one brother, Donald Weis. Berniece was a secretary for Illinois Power for over twenty years; later she worked for Eastgate Management in Carbondale. Funeral services for Mrs. Berniece Clara Hawk will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church in Pomona with Pastor Eric Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church in Pomona. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dutch Ridge Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
