Bernice Kaupas

Bernice Kaupas, age 86 of Cobden, died Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Herrin Hospital. She was born September 18, 1933 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Everett and Allie (Brown) Frick. She married Edward Kaupas on October 31, 1953 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1996. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Debra (Joseph) Pletta of Rochester, MN; daughter in law, Shelley Kaupas of Shorewood, IL; grandchildren, Aileen Pletta, Madeline Pletta and Brady Kaupas; sisters, Fern Dexter (Bob McCain) of Anna and Carol Sue (Ken) Dillow of Anna; nieces and nephews; sister in law, Carol Nancy Frick of Anna; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Kaupas; two sons, Steven Kaupas and Kenneth Kaupas; sisters, Joanne Sanders, Patricia Ann Marsh, June Frick, Betty Jean Dickerson; and brother, Sidney Frick. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:00 on Saturday in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
