Bernice Aline Dempsey

Bernice Aline Dempsey, age 101 of Festus, MO, formerly of Anna, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Crystal Oaks in Festus, MO. She was born October 1, 1919 in Eldorado, the daughter of John Melvin and Orpha Karns Overton. She married Glen Dempsey on December 21, 1939 in Eldorado. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1984. Bernice is survived by her sons, Gary (Jean) Dempsey of Bellville, and Gail (Leslie) Dempsey of Crystal City, Mo; three grandchildren, Sean (Amy) Dempsey, Bradley (Holly) Dempsey, Krystal (Dennis) Gross; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Dempsey, Riley, Jackson, and Trenton Gross, Vanessa Dempsey; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Dempsey; twin sister, Agnes Brockett as well as three other sisters. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna for many years. She loved to play golf and attend many church activities. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Nick DiMauro officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Everyone attending will be required to wear face coverings and observe social distancing requirements. Maximum occupancy of the building will be limited to 50 people at one time.
