Barbara Jean Penrod

Barbara Jean Penrod, age 87 of Anna, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her home. She was born May 25, 1934 in Anna, the daughter of Harry and Millie (Bartsch) Cruse. She married Joe Penrod on October 25, 1959. Barbara is survived by her husband, Joe Penrod of Anna; son, Ricky Joe (Leslie) Penrod of Dongola; grandchildren, Michaela Sizemore, Colton Penrod, Mia DeHarpart; great-grandchildren, Ella Helton, Drake Penrod, Kimber and Piper Sizemore; brother, Carl Cruse of Elgin; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Allen Lee Penrod; siblings, Grace Clark, Mary Moreland, Charles Cruse, and Hellen Reish. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed playing Uno and Checkers anytime she had them over. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Anna Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. at the cemetery.
