Arthur Scott Aronson

Arthur Scott Aronson, age 77 of Cobden, IL passed away in his home Sunday January 28, 2024. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 19,1946, the son of Arthur Ramon and Josephine (Stange) Aronson.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Paulette; their children, Anna (Richard) Villarreal, Zachary (Mellisa) Christy-Aronson, and Caleb Aronson; three grandchildren, Alyssia Villarreal, Marcus Villarreal, and Nadia Christy-Aronson; his sister Galen Jill (Robert) Minetz; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arthur was a graduate of Lane Technical High School in Chicago and attended Park College in Kansas City, MO, and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Shawnee Community College. Arthur worked as a chemist, a carpenter contractor, and then as an RN, dealing primarily with geriatric patients in Chicago and Southern Illinois.

Arthur was a methodical craftsman, an analytical thinker with interests in numerous subjects. He appreciated the arts with a special love of music in numerous forms. He had a keen sense of humor and was sensitive to those with special needs, children, and the elderly. He had a strong sense of the importance of family.

Funeral Services and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Cobden at a date to be announced later. Memorial contributions can be made to the Need Fund at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is assisting the Aronson family with arrangements.
