Amelia Elizabeth Slayden

Amelia Elizabeth Slayden, age 89 of Anna, died at 1:41 am, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Alive Hospice Center in Nashville, TN. Amelia was born April 15, 1921 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of Charles Anthony and Catherine (Brown) Ludwig. She married Walter Everette Slayden September 1, 1943 in Norfolk, VA. He preceded her in death August 7, 2007.Amelia is survived by three daughters, Penelope Hicks of Radcliff, KY, Virginia Meacham of Cobden, and Sandy (Ben) Casey of Anna; two sons, Walter (Caroline) Slayden of Tampa, FL and Anthony (Peggy) Slayden of Denton, MD; fifteen grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.Funeral services for Amelia Elizabeth Slayden will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Richard Pearce officiating. Interment will be in Big Creek Cemetery near Anna. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
