Allie Jane Sullens

Allie Jane Sullens, age 82 of Cobden, died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born November 6, 1937 in Cobden, the daughter of Hobert and Geneva (Hooppaw) McCann. She married William Max Sullens on October 15, 1955 in Cobden. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2005. Allie Jane is survived by her children, Lori (Randy) Gooden of Urbana, Sheryl Knupp of Cobden, and Kevin Lee Sullens of Cobden; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Knupp, Shayn Knupp, Jessica (Evan) Rothstein, Christopher (Sara) Sullens, Brandon (Morgan) Sullens, Brian Sullens, Tyler Sullens, Kevin Sullens, Ashley Sullens, Robert (Aimee) Gooden, Mathew Gooden, Morgan (Ross) Daily, and Megan Kilburn; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Frick of Creve Coeur and Sue McCann of Texas; nieces & nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Max Sullens. Allie Jane was always so full of life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cobden as a young woman. She worked at Florsheim Shoe Company for 10 years. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Pastor Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
