Mr. Allen D. Laminack., age 65 of Lick Creek passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home. He was born August 14, 1951 in Anna, the son of Vernon & Norma (Swafford) Laminack. He married Rita Mowery on September 18, 1976 in Cedar Grove Church. Allen is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Rita Laminack of Lick Creek; one daughter, Tammy Bonifas of Elgin, two sons, Shannon Laminack of Lick Creek and Simon (Kasey) Laminack of Dongola; grandchildren, Andrew Laminack, Devin Laminack, Trent Laminack, Peace Lynn Perilloux, Rebecca Laminack, Ryleigh Laminack and Eli Laminack; two brothers, Leon (Jan) Laminack of Bourbonnais, Grover (Sheary) Laminack of Cambria; one sister, Margie Laminack of Dongola; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Allen was a member of the New Hope Church in Lick Creek and was the song leader for many years. He was a strong Christian man and his faith in Christ seen him through the toughest of times. Allen for The Anna Tree Nursery for thirty-seven years retiring as foreman. He loved gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. Allen served his country in the United States Navy. Funeral services for Mr. Allen D. Laminack will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 in New Hope Church in Lick Creek with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Navy Funeral Honor Detail. Friends may call from 12 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the New Hope Church. Memorial contributions are preferred to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the church and Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
