Alfred Claude Austin

Mr. Alfred Claude Astin, age 77, of Dongola, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his home. He was born December 3, 1936 in Karnak, the son of Claude and Dora Dunn Astin. He married Dorothy Corzine on June 16, 1956 in Union Co. Alfred is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Dorothy Astin of Dongola; two sons, Randy Astin and Jerry (Lori) Astin all of Dongola; one grandson, Jamie (Paige) Astin of Anna; one sister, Vivian (Jerome) Watkins of Goreville; two brothers, Bill (Clara Faye) Astin of Ozark, MO, Don (Janette) Astin of League City, Texas; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Michael Astin. Alfred worked many years in auto body repair. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Funeral services for Mr. Alfred Claude Astin will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the McGinnis Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice or the McGinnis Cemetery.
