Albert R. "Abe" Craig

Mr. Albert R. "Abe" Craig, age 88 of Anna, died at 1:47 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born November 3, 1923 in Goreville, the son of Leander D. and Edith Sullivan Craig. He married Cecile A. "Agnes" Perry on June 21, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2010.Abe is survived by one son, Steve (Jean) Craig of Anna; two daughters, Brenda (Charles) Vitaska of Denver, Colorado, Linda Simpson of Anna; six grandchildren, Derek & Brian Craig, Craig Simpson, Christy Bivens, Matthew Vitaska, Sara Shelton; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Craig Jr. of Goreville; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Cecile A. "Agnes" Craig; two sisters, Mary Lampshire and Cecile Morgan; four brothers, Virgil, Herschel, Omer and Owen Craig. Abe attended the Landmark Pentecostal Church in Anna. He was a fruit grower and manager for 53 years for Metzler& Eckerts Orchards. He owned and operated Craigs Rentals for many years. He was a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge # 520 AF & AM. Funeral services for Mr. Albert R. "Abe" Craig will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Richard Pearce officiating Interment will be in the Busby Cemetery in Goreville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Anna Masonic Lodge #520 AF & AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
