A.G. Davies Arnold Jr

Mr. A.G. Davies Arnold Jr., age 90 of Cobden, died at 2:43 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born September 9, 1921 in South Dakota, the son of A. G. Davies Sr. and Lacey Connie Arnold. He married Betty Clare Sanders on December 25, 1955 in Corinth, Mississippi. Davies is survived by his wife, Betty Arnold of Cobden; children, Tina Arnold of Anna, Sheila Arnold of Murphysboro, Davies (Sharon) Arnold III of Anna, Adell (Jason) Fuller of Anna; Joseph (Britni) Arnold of Cobden, Lisa (Robert) Hill of Anna, Sandra (William) Bollinger of Carbondale, Tonia Arnold of Holly Springs, North Carolina; nineteen grandchildren; seventy one great grandchildren; forty seven great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Georgia Davis; one son, Kenneth E. Arnold; three grandchildren, Chris Dans, Angelo Arnold and Tashaka Sanders; and fifteen brothers and sisters. Davies was a devoted member of the New Life Tabernacle Church in Murphysboro. He retired in 1993 from E.T. Simonds Construction. Funeral services for Mr. A.G. Davies Jr. will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the New Life Tabernacle in Murphysboro, with Rev. Larry Worthen Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:00 noon and until the service hour at 2:00 on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the New Life Tabernacle Church in Murphysboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the church.
